I am a downtown Oakland based cellist and writer. I make work that explores the intersection of text,
performance, bookmaking, scavenging and musical composition in various projects. I am very interested in having my work be located in and explore issues that are relevant to Oakland and the community in which I live.
My prose and performance work explore identity and eroticism in the context of alienated urbanism. My cello and musical work address questions specific to composition for non-standard instrumentation, ensemble performance, and improvisation as a practice. My approach is very barebones and low-fi: I'm more interested in inspiring people to use language, garbage, and everyday objects to explore ideas and liberate themselves from dominant cultural narratives.
